With the cold weather settling in, I always turn to one of my absolute favorite drinks: Chai Tea!

I have been trying to take small moments during the day to pause and just breathe and have learned that one of the small habits that seems to always help with this is to cozy up with a warm drink in the morning or at the end of the day. There’s something about holding a steaming hot mug and then taking slow, thoughtful sips that is the essence of comfort and calm.

So today, I thought I would share with you a recipe for one of my favorite comfort drinks — homemade chai tea. This super tasty, robust flavored sort-of-coffee-like beverage is packed with powerful ingredients. With less caffeine than a cup of coffee, I can drink up and not worry about feeling jittery or not being able to sleep later. The aroma of the boiling spices invigorate my senses and - best part - I get to reap the benefits of healthy antioxidants and polyphenols on all the spices.

Chai is made from spices filled with an immense amount of health benefits. The cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, cardamom, allspice, and cloves not only make a great-tasting beverage, they support my immune system, decrease inflammation, improve digestion, and give me a little caffeine boost. 😉

So, my dear friends settle in. Drink your chai tea. And remember, it's always tea time!
